This 3rd World baby incubator concept was conceived by one of Swinburne University’s Industrial Design students, designed to be easily manufactured in poorer nations. The concept solved two problems in one – providing life-saving care in countries where there are high newborn mortality rates, as well as creating jobs in local communities in order to make them.
We thought this was a brilliant idea, so we recreated the students work using 3D software, and integrated it into our campaign to show just how wonderful the future could be, when you study at Swinburne.

As we explored Swinburne University for real-world examples to highlight in our campaign, we came across this amazing concept by a 2nd Year Industrial Design student.
It was a simple premise – lot’s of people need help up and down stairs for all sorts of reasons, but there isn’t always a ramp for wheelchair access, or medical stretchers. This wheelchair design overcomes such an obstacle by self-adjusting as it’s wheeled up or down stairs by whoever is operating it. It could also flatten to become a stretcher.
We decided this was a future product worth bringing to life in our campaign, so we recreated a moment that a heavily pregnant woman needs help down stairs, using 3D software, which was then integrated into a real life shoot.
